While a few years back, she'd have had more than a few scars, she's now limited to those that are still healing, as being brought back by Cerberus healed all the old ones. She has short red hair, green eyes, and faint freckles. She usually wears practical clothing and is uncomfortable in anything overly feminine, particularly dresses and uncomfortable shoes. Here's a picture!

PERSONALITY;
Commander Shepard is a natural leader, very likely because of her confidence. Throughout the series, you never see her hesitate, even in tasks that she acknowledges as suicide missions. She keeps a cool head even in situations that would overwhelm others, jumping right back into combat in the beginning of Mass Effect 2 mere minutes after waking up in an unfamiliar place on a lab table. Born into a military family and raised on spaceships, she is a hardened soldier unbothered by flesh wounds (slap some medigel on it and keep going).

While she gathers trusted allies with enthusiasm, she is unafraid to go it alone, such as in the Leviathan DLC, where she climbs into a mech that is half rusted through and takes it down under the ocean with no hesitation. While she understands the severity of tasks placed upon her, she is not opposed to banter or even partying with her friends, although the recent Citadel DLC shows her getting irritated when her squadmates get a bit toochatty on a mission.

Because I play Shepard on the Paragon route, she usually takes the moral high road, even when it goes against orders or warnings. She is not, however, immune from being petty or even downright silly at times. When harassed by a reporter out for sensationalized (and negative) press on the Commander, she punched her in the face. She also keeps a variety of fish that her workaholic tendencies often end up killing, and a hamster she calls “the space hamster” that miraculously lives up until she turns herself in to the alliance after Mass Effect 2. This along with her bond with a retired fighting Varren indicates a fondness for animals, even lacking the time to take care of them.

It takes a lot to make her blush, as she shamelessly hits on Garrus when initiating a romance with him in Mass Effect 2, but she is a terrible dancer and somewhat embarrassed by it, as shown by her heartfelt protests at the beginning of the turian tango in Mass Effect 3.

HISTORY; Overview over here! Shepard is played as mostly paragon with some renegade, with the Spacer option as her origin and Sole Survivor as her pre-game military background. Didn't romance anyone in Mass Effect, and romanced Garrus in Mass Effect 2. Saved Ashley on Virmire, and Wrex is alive.

SAMPLES
FIRST PERSON; Thread over here!
THIRD PERSON;
Shepard has never missed Tali as badly as she did during the conversation she'd had earlier. Apparently the friendly individual who has been leading her around all morning was not only one of hundreds of sentient races in the area, but also simultaneously organic and synthetic. Something about AIs developing physical bodies by overlaying their server on top of the real world. It made her head hurt.

The sheer insanity of the whole situation is making her very uneasy about putting her life into the hands of her 'partner', who she isn't even entirely sure has opposable thumbs. She misses having Garrus on one side and Tali on the other, but there isn't much she can do but scout out the place she's found herself in. She keeps a list of things she should be able to find in a multi-species settlement that there is no sign of here.

Item one: Extranet connection. She remembers the term 'internet' vaguely from a history class she'd likely slept through as a teenager, but it's apparently all they have here.

Item two: Asari, Turians, Salarians, Krogan... The only race she recognizes here are the other humans. She hasn't seen anyone who resembles her 'partner', either.

Item three: Spacecrafts. Or familiar transport vehicles of any kind, really. Joker would hate it here.

Item four: Police.

Yeah, it's that last one that's really worrying her. In a place this big with a population this diverse, she'd expected to see patrols. She honestly has no idea what she's doing here. If she's been dragged here to sort out some problem, nobody seems eager to tell her what it is. If she's been kidnapped, that little white child they'd left her with wasn't much of a guard. If she'd gotten here as the result of some kind of crash...

Well. Not nearly enough bruises or exciting new scars-in-the-making for that one.

She's probably going to have to interrogate her 'partner' when she makes her way back to where she'd left them 'standing watch'.

What a lovely start to a potentially vital working relationship that would be.

comments
